Carpinteria High Wins in Overtime
Carpinteria High takes out Malibu High in Overtime
May 9th, 2008 - The Red Bull Riders Cup hit Ventura this week as Carpinteria High took the win becoming the Red Bull Riders Cup Golden State regional champions.
In the final game Malibu High took the lead, but with forty seconds to go Carpinteria High made a comeback tying the game, bringing it into overtime.
With exceptional surfing from both teams, Carpinteria won in overtime by one point. Carpinteria High will compete at the Red Bull Riders Cup National Championships June 14 & 15 at San Onofre State Beach in San Clemente.
The third annual Red Bull Riders Cup, formally known as Red Bull High School Cup, will take the games New Jersey from May 13-15. Invited high schools are Ocean City High, Southern Regional High School, Manesquan High, and Middletown High.
